It's like this and like that and like this and uh, it's like that and like this and like that and uh....
Woo, one final (the easy one) down and two (the important one followed by the less important one) to go. I am getting burned out, the sun is shining, and I can think of at least 600 things I'd rather be doing right now.
House-sitting for my brother until July 9 starting today. Last weekend was super-fun. Chilled Friday night and studied a little, then went to Nicole's apt for a little get-together for people who worked at our student-run free clinic. Saturday was graduation and apparently father's day, since my brother decided to move it. Went to the farmer's market, braved the traffic and shitty parking just to get a haircut so I could look presentable to my family. Rolled home, ate pizza with my pops and brother/family. Dad fell off a ladder last week and cut up his leg so he's still off his feet. Had a great time eating, chillin, playing bingo and soccer with the girls. Came back to the vine, overspent at Target, cooked dinner (finally) for Christina, and headed to The Bren for Luis' grad. Andy, Yagi, Tiff and Dustin picked us up and we grabbed Foh-ties of Coors Lite from the liquor store, pounded and went in. Sat with Los Sanchez, etc., screamed our heads off for Sanchez, who DID THE ROBOT ON STAGE!!! Zora kept yelling for him well past the time he waled back to his seat, during the calling of everyone else's name, it was classic. Ended up at Pat's Pub, everyone was there, Luis and I dominated at shiffleboard, Kedis and Drevin showed up, it was awesome. Then Christina arrived and I showed her off :)
Good times. Yesterday was study day, but I managed to get my ass up and run a couple of miles AND go to the gym, which I was proud of (and made me hurt all day today). Today was a final and will soon become study day. Final Wed, test Fri, then THAT'S IT AND I'M A SECOND YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOT WOOOOOT. Going to try to whip up a little trip dpwn to Baja Norte Sunday and Monday too, so that should be fun. I need to start studying Spanish... Good thing i have a sweet tutor! Au revoir-I mean, ADIOS!

Damn, I lost this blog thrice. I won't reapeat it. Lots of tests a few weeks ago, some great and mediocre grades were gotten, drinks were had, karaoke was sung, girlfriend was exposed to entire med school class successfully, bbq was had, rocking show by the Fever was put on, dates were gone on, studying was avoided, selection of your truly for anatomy tutor next year was performed, gash in Dad's leg resulting in an ER trip but no serious outcome was experienced, what else? Tagalong with pediatrician was had, place to live next year in VDC with classmate Jesse was secured, Spanish lessons from Christina were begun. If my high school english teacher saw all this passive voice verb usage she'd flunk me outta med school. Oh yeah, this week's supremely crappy irony: Yesterday amid commutes, tag-alongs, tutor meetings and studying I was offered 2 tickets with Crestina from Calof lab to VIP box seats/bar passed to Angels/Nationals game. Stupidly (VERY) declined. Should have blown off the evening and done it. Then I find out it's Christina's favorite baseball matchup. D'oh. Today SHE gets a ticket since her friend got sick. Stoked she got to go, I "got to" study the increasingly complicated and poorly taught neuroscience of the cerebral cortex. I want to put a hole in MY cerebral cortex. so unmotivated, so tired, so burnt out. Need a vacation.

Holy shit, time flies. Just yesterday I was saying "Shit, where the hell am I going to school next year, I hope I don't end up in Buffalo." Now I'm 19 days from ending my first year of med school and my 7th year at UCI. I should have a damned building named after me.
I just got back from Yard House/Patrick's Pub and it was great. I got to see Luis, Yagi, Mike, Andrea, Daniel, Meera, and even Cliff Kravit. From my dorm freshman year. Awesome. Had a half a yard of beer, hung out, drove drunk people around, and came home before midnight like the grandpa I've become.
Last night was fun, studied (not fun) then met up with Christina and her friends for Pasta Connection. Good, but not as good as I remembered. The aviator was not wuite as boring as I hear ot was long, but we never finished it. Had some yummy Einstein Bros bagels this morning then hit los libros all day. I learned a few Spanish terms for the upper extremity from my new personal Spanish tutor then practiced them on Luis. !Muy Bien! (pretend the first exclamation point was upside down, OK?)
So I've been dating Christina for almost a month. Wow. I never thought I'd basically have a girlfriend at this point, but everything has been great thus far.
The past few weeks have been rough school-wise, anatomy final, then 3 days to study for Neuro (did OK, but not great I suspect) then this weekend to study for Immuno Monday. I've been to 4 of 12 lectures, but thank God for good notes.
Monday will be grand, I can't wait.
