Blogger ate my last few posts... What a great weekend! Friday went to do Harvey, the med school's cardiovascular robot simulator-guy. They can dial in heart murmurs and you can listen to the dummy's chest. Then Erin, Adam and I went to Jill's for food and wine, great release after the anatomy week from hell. Mark and I presented, I had coffee beforehand and was way wired. Came back from Jill's, watched N. Dynamite and crashed. Saturday woke up and studied at Berk with Mark for 4 hours, then got lazy and played guitar with Adam, met up with Luis, bought some liquor and headed to the bball game. They are so much more fun when wastedness is involved. Hung with Dustin, Meera, Mike, Andrea, Luis, and Andy's new chick Tiffany. Went to Patrick's (blowin up), basically DJ'ed since the jukebox was all me. Came home to realize I had no keys, and since Mark was gone I crashed elsewhere.
Today was fun, got breakfast, studied for a couple of hours, then had a fat band practice, Amanda and Jill both spectated. Made Italian food real quick-like for Jill, Adam and myself, then studied another couple of hours. Overall, very fun weekend, way less studying than I needed to, way more fun that I should have had :)

This is turning out to be quite the week. Awesome band practice last night, no hangover, class was OK, cleaned the house and cooked dinner for Erin and Mark, almost burned the apartment down (don't put anything in the broiler, EVER) and overcooked the chicken and pasta. It was OK, and they enjoyed it while I was all self-critical... Threw down 50 bucks for TWO tickets to the dance next FRiday, so I need to grow some balls and ask Miss professional salsa dancer to go with me. Wed is another salsa tutorial. Between the madness today I met Sylvia and Gail at Islands, talked to Gail about being newly engaged, being 2nd year class prez (thinking of runnning) and other stuff. Sylvia is mad at me for not being available to hang out, but whatever. Went to Fox Sports Grill with Mark to meet Adam, Amanda, and her pysch crew. ROCKED at pool 6 beers deep, almost danced with a few random hot girls, then just hung with the crew, Jill and Kathleen joined us and it ended up being really fun. They all rock at min-bowling, especiually Mark. I need to organize IM bowling, I just can't actually be on the team since I blow.
Bed Time.

Man, whne it rains it pours. Eric is quite the ladies man these days. On a different more rokken note, we just had band practice and it was fucking great. Beers and music and new songs. The band name:

The Irvine Fever

Pays homage to the place we call home, invloves some covert medical nerdiness, and has "The" in the name, which is so hot right now.

today rocked so much. my old boss, whom I chatted with today, said "enjoy your time." i really took that to heart today, and it felt great. granted i didn;t study enough so i very well might be clueless in lab tomorrow, bit shit, i have all weekend.

i just realized that i've been in the anatomy lab every day this week. all my clothes stink and i've had formaldehunger every day too, that's bad news. we all seem to crave in n' out after dissections. gross. today was nice, we presented our forearm dissection to three groups of around 4 people and they went well. then we grubbed lunch at baja fresh. i think my opinion of that genre of fake mexican food is turning around. it's good, it's fresh, it's reasonably authentic, and it's healthier than average (which takes away some degree of authenticity. afte rlunch we got back early and everyone was playing outside our lecture hall like a college brochure. i did some skating, ollied a few times, powerslid, and made it look like i used to be good. kids were throwing footballs, there was a volleyball being juggled like a softball, it was really fun. then we had class. not fun.
i've decided to go stag to the formal, aaron and i are sporting mustaches and old school suits, like maybe miami vice style.
went to the arc and worked out my tiny little legs, they are sore already.
i'm excited to go to body worlds this weekend with the med student crew, it should be great nerdy fun. then to chano's hopefully. then to blue beet to watch a classmate's roommate's band play. should be a fun ling weekend...

So I just finished house (rather DOG) sitting at my brother's. Poor Rondo is like a grandpa, he's constipated, dehydrated, and is getting really frail and weak. I go there Friday night, cooked some bomb lasagna, and had dinner with Adam and Amanda. Watched Harold and Kumar twice (very good) then crashed. I love being there, I feel so homey and comfortable despite living out of a backpack. Varena bought me a pork roast and whole chicken, neither of which I cooked. Saturday I tried to go to Body Worlds with Andy, Meera, Dana, Larry, etc. We go to LA at 11:00 and they didn't have an entrance time until 4:00. We checked out the remainder of the CA Sciencenter, which was weak, but they had a cool bio area. I surfed on a red bllodcell, lifeted Luis up so his crotch glowed yellow on the infrared camers display, and learned all about science on an 8th grade level, it was fun. Ate a great taco at Chano's, which =Mike so graciously directed me to. USC kids have it so great, there's a lot of good Mexican foo there.
BBQed in the rain at my brother's house for said folks plus Kat (NOT Kat Scratch Fever Kat). Studied until bed that night. Anatomy is getting crazy. Sunday just chilled, studied a bit, worked out, etc. Adam came over and studied wiht me for a few hours, then I fell asleep watching Blue Crush (not good, hot girl).
Dissected the anterior forearm in lab Monday with Eric Wei, it went pretty well. Wnet back to lab to finish, then came back.
Poor Rondo pooped in the house (NOT when I take him out to crap in the park...go figure) multiple times over the past few days. It's been dort of a pain to house sit, and I know my brother will offer cash, but I fell bad taking it. Even though the rain, driving to school, getting a ticket, dog sitting the old dog and studying like crazy stressed me out. The best cure: yoga (I think).
Tried yoga wiht dome guys from class. I got there late so I yoga-ed on wood floor. It was relxing and hard at the same time. My muscles were trembling at the end and my abs are sore today. I was also super calm and relaxed, so it was a great combo.
Today finished up housesitting, the sun came out and rid me of my rainy day depression, and I went to class. Came home and played the best raquetball match of my life against Adam. We both kicked ass, hit some great shots, and got great exercise. He beat me in the end, but it was great nonetheless. Had PD, it was chill since my interviewing is over, then went to lab to set up our presentation for tomorrow. Went to Del with Mark, Arron, Gabe, Jodi and Allison, didn't eat, then came home and studied for an hour. I hate the scrubs is not on. Next week, next week... 3 day weekend coming up , 3 more days...

Continued..
So we woke up late and sat around in the bedroom of the apartment (all on the floor insleeping bags), I steamrolled Dustin, then we finally cleaned up and got the hell out. It was raining, but we were in the van, which worked out nicely. dustin gave a guided tour of SF, including lots of bums that looked like Dave Chapelle, the steepest road in SF, the curviest road in the world, and other highllights including all of his favorite bars. we got out at the wharf, grabbed some chowda (who can go to the city and not eat chowder??) then headed back to the shafortress where we hit up the bar, drank a bunch, played osme liar's dice, watched a few OC's while Dustin and I cooked up some crazy BBQ dinner with the help of babajohn and his mashed potatoes. We decided to count down new years again (for the first time...), so we popped in the OC and popped out the champagne (or "sham-pag-nay, as Dustin says). Bed time had arrived, so we hit the sack. Woke up, ate bagels, said out goodbyes (Andrea got a very special goodbye) and headed out. I drove primetime all the way back, through some light rain, with a stop to meet Shannon at Panoche (seriously, that's the town!) where we hung out and ate lunch. Shannon hooked me up with a vintage pinup calendar, which was hott. Finalyy made it home and crahed the hell out. I've left out many jokes, details and fun, but you get the idea...

Today sucked, I am sick with a runny nose and eyees and cough. I am a mess. Class sucked, anatomy was cool, lunch was free, Naomi interviewed today and I assumed the role of interview coordinator, which is easier and of much less prestige than it sounds. BUT I get free food every interview day, so that rocks. Played r-ball with adam and my inactivity and sickness caught up with me as i sucked ass and got winded in 5 minutes. Gotta get better and exercise. Made Indian food, studied the posterior triangle of the neck, and here I am. No class until 10:15 tomorrow!

We have a dance (I know, so high school) in 3 weeks and I need a date (outside UCI COM preferably. would it be dope tp approcah a cute girl in a coffee shop and ask her to a med school formal dance? i've been told that yes, that would be cool. Will i do it? probably not. We'll see. Definitely gonna grab a cordouroy suit with fatty collared shirt open down to mid-chest and grow a mustache (theme is LATIN FEVER).

Lots to say, I might be typing all night. Blogs are great for recording my feelings and experiences at a given time, and I recommend to all bloggers/livejournalers/xanga-ers to go back and read your old entries, it's awesome.

It's day one of quarter two of year one of medical school. I had one hour of class today. Thank God. My poor brain is fried courtesy of last weekend, possibly one of the best of my life. I had been having a moderately crappy break wiht my aunt being sick, my family being uber-dramatic, my mom smoking like a chimney (due to said drama), my dumb ass scheduling two tag-alongs at two hospitals in one week on my BREAK, being alone at Xmas, and me not being able to stop thinking about things that upset me.

Last weekend changed the vibe. I got to see all my best friends, I got the fuck out of the OC, and I drank and smoked all the bad stuff out of my head, replacing it with great memories, a newfound determination, and a hell of a lot of confidence. I just wish all that had not been retained in place of my academic capacity. Today was rough. After getting out of class at 9:00 I played doubles raquetball, went shopping for much-needed food, cleaned, and finally tried to start studying. Yeah, i only had an hour of class, but that means 3 hours of teaching myself stuff not convered in class but asked on the test. TOnight people are going out drinking for somebody's Bday but i fell a cold coming on so I rented Napoleon Dynamite, fixed dinner, and here I am...

Since non one has blogged about SF, I have no way of knowing what I'm about to leave out... Lots of mental holes. Here it goes,

So Thursday I recued my newly repaired iPod and bough lots of fun accessories for it. Visited my aunt, who is doing much better. Still in the hospital but she has a great attitude. I promised to cook for her when she gets out. SHe's the one who got me into cooking. Met up with Andy and set out for Meera's parent's office in Fullerton where she, Dana, and PRIMETIME awaited. Took a while, but after arriveing, getting a grand tour of VR GIFTS (which we found out is the Indian fob way of saying "we are gifts") we set out. Meera and Dana double-teamed the drive up. We hit rain about central Cali, and it kept up for a while. Luckily, I was full of Dana's baked goods and passed out for most of the second leg. After arriving in Half Moon Bay, we took the long windy road up the hills to what would then become known as the Sha-fortress. although it was 3:00 am, after dustin drove out and rescued us from being lost on his "street" we hung out for a few more hours before bed. His house was hott, really big, has a bar, steam room, sauna, hottub, a bar, and a bar. Next morning we had breakfast, got the grand Sha-tour, hung out with the family (Baba-Joon=money) then packed up to head out to the city. After a nice little drive, picking up Dustin's friend Alex's gf, hitting, Goomba's pizza in Sunnyvale, running alongside the van at San Jose airport, picking up Luis and Andrea, and cramming them and their gear comfortably into the van we hot the city. Holy shit, the apartment Dustin's dad owns is right off the freeway and at a Muni stop, the J-line. we ate pizza, drank, and waited for all the people to arrive. One of Dustin's HMB kids, Karen, was hot but not interesting in even talking to me, despite slammin back vodka red bulls. A few more people came, mostly HMB kids, and some hot asian girls who immediately cracked a bottle of champagne (it was 10:00). HOtt. We made it on the train and took it downtown. This girl Cat was super cool and I let her talk about being premed and applying to med school and critiquing schools and stuff for a while until she asked me what I did and I told her. She was all embrassed. It was classic. We kept talking, and she turned out to be hella (norCAL) cool. Left my umbrella on the train, maybe since I as trying to avoid the guy standing in front of me (as i sat) with puke on his shirt. Grabbed a gatorade and Cat proceeded to laod ot wiht vodka from her flask (hott) and we pounded together. the best part was that I was totally only buzzed and felt super great. We got to this crowded ass Irish pub where the Sha-faded made deals to get us all in for 10 bucks a head. Drank, danced, and New Years came with a fucking countdown! Not even the band did it. randmly someone yells out and the band starts playing Aulde Ang Zine (how the heel do you speel that??). Cat and i arranged a new countdown and both got our new years kiss. A lot. We danced, she said she sucked then proceeded to be a really hot dancer. I knew she was faded when she sdaid I was a good dancer :) Hung out with robbie, dustin, luis, etc while cat and her friend disappeared. saw her a gain for a few secounds then before i knew it they were gone to the bart, and i was singing "Hotel Califrnia" with a bum standing on his head outside the bar. Still relatively sober. We missed the last train, couldnt find a cab, and Karen fell down wasted like 4 times, then andy and i decided to take her and ditch the HMB guys acting like morons. we got picked up randomly by an indian couple who offered us a ride for 10 bones. Dope, it was "VR taxi." Got back, hung out, fell asleep with the homies oin the floor in one of the bedrooms in the apt.
God I am tired of tyoping. I'll continue tomorrow with part II...
